Dext for Businesses: An Enhanced Experience with New Features
Accurate and current business data has always been essential. In today’s fast-paced world, businesses expect more from their tools and services. Compliance is also becoming increasingly digitised, which means your processes need to be connected more than ever and your data up to date and relevant.
To meet these evolving demands, we are pleased to have recently announced significant upgrades that integrate our core Dext Prepare product with features from Dext Precision and Dext Commerce, creating one seamless platform. These updates, along with our recent and upcoming feature releases, are designed to make it even easier to manage your business bookkeeping and employee expenses in one place.
The updates will make it easier for you to capture data in real time, ensure accurate recording, and benefit from enhanced automation that saves time and reduces manual work. Above all, your data will be more actionable, supporting the health of your business.

Coming soon: New Features to streamline your bookkeeping
Very soon, we’ll be introducing three new features to help you better manage employee expenses and supplier invoices, helping you to reduce administrative burdens and maintain tighter control over your finances. We’ll be in touch with existing customers soon when these features are available.
- Supplier Statement Extraction and Verification (available mid-August): Quickly reconcile supplier invoices, detect errors, and prevent fraud. Dext extracts all the essential information from a supplier statement, including the statement date, payable balance, and details of invoices and credit notes. It then scans for any missing information and assigns a status to each line, giving you a clear view of which invoices are already in the system and what still needs to be added.
- Mileage Tracking (Available September): Automatically or manually record trips for personal or company cars, Dext will automatically calculate reimbursement amounts based on legislative requirements or custom information then post as a cost item and add to expense reports, saving you and your employees valuable time.
- Approvals (Available September): Set up multi-step and multi-stage approvals workflows for different users and groups to efficiently approve supplier and customer invoices and employee expense claims, giving you greater control over your internal processes.
Coming soon: Your enhanced Dext experience
From early September you will also be able to switch to the updated version of Dext. The new platform will bring together all of the features mentioned above along with a more modern and intuitive Dext experience, making Dext even easier for you and your employees to use on a daily basis.
The updated Dext platform will bring together the capabilities of Dext Prepare along with our other products, Dext Precision, and Dext Commerce, providing a broader range of features all in one place.
This will include:
- Simple navigation: An easier way to find your way around Dext
- Greater flexibility: A tailored experience for different roles within your business
- Additional features and value: In the future you’ll have the option to purchase additional add-ons from within the product such as data insights and e-commerce connectors
How do I get this enhanced experience?
From early September 2024, you will be invited to switch to the enhanced Dext experience from your existing account. You’ll be able to switch back to the old version if you wish to do so. We understand you may have questions about the changes, so we’ve compiled a list of answers here.
We’ve been rigorously testing these new developments with users and will continue to gather feedback. From the feedback we’ve received so far we’re confident the changes we’re making alongside our new features will make Dext even easier to use and provide you with greater value for your business.
